Candidate for IYFC President

District Elder Johnathan Mintz

Pastor Johnathan Mintz is a native of Orangeburg, SC. He is the first born of two sons. His parents, Willie and Priscilla, and his brother, Justin now reside in St. Matthews, SC. Pastor Mintz was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg Consolidated School District 5 and graduating with honors, he furthered his education at the University of South Carolina (Columbia Campus) College of Biology.
Pastor Mintz is married to Elect Lady Wanda (Guess) Mintz. This union is abundantly blessed with six children. Jonathan, Julai, Justin, Jayden, and twins, Joshua and Jackson who have brought much joy to this young couple’s life. Needless to say, there is never a dull moment in their presence!
Pastor Mintz was called to the ministry while he was a member of the St. James Church of God under the leadership of his grandfather the late Bishop L. W. Mintz. He served faithfully there as the Minister of Music and on many other committees. The Mintz family was introduced to the Way of the Cross Church of Christ by the Late Bishop Harold K. Clarkson. They joined this great organization via Miracle Way of the Cross in Cameron, SC on January 8, 2006. Continuing the mission in Vance, SC, which Minister Mintz founded in 2004, he worked faithfully and fervently to promote the spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ. From the “Pineland Street Mission,” as it was affectionately called, was birthed the ministry he now pastors Stand for Christ Way of the Cross Church of Christ.
Pastor Mintz currently holds many offices in the WOTCC. In the South Carolina Diocese he is the Minister of Music and the Vice President of the YFC. In the Southern Region he is also the Minister of Music and the President of the YFC.
With great enthusiasm and vitality, Pastor Mintz works tirelessly to ensure that he is found worthy of the vocation wherewith he has been called!

District Elder Christopher S. Hairston
2nd Vice President
Triumph WOTCC – Roanoke, VA

Elder Christopher ShoNeel Hairston’s spiritual life has always been one of servitude and activity in his local church and national organization. At an early age, Elder Chris sang in the Children’s Choir and Youth for Christ Choir (Voices of Praise) of Shiloh WOTCC, and later transitioned into the Radio Choir (Sanctuary Voices of Praise). He served as an officer of the busy bees, a children’s group, and was also the Vice-President of the Intermediate Youth for Christ of the Way of the Cross Church of Christ in 1993. He served seven years as the Vice-President of the Intermediate. In 2000, Elder Hairston joined the membership committee and eventually became the membership chairman where his responsibilities were to handle event registration and maintaining membership rosters for use in analysis and office elections. Elder Hairston currently serves as the Second Vice President of the National Youth for Christ for the Way of the Cross Church of Christ, International.

Elder Chris was baptized at the age of 4 in October 1980 and received the gift of the Holy Ghost in June 1992 at the age of 15. After accepting his call into ministry and professing his call to his pastor, Bishop Earley Dillard, and congregation, Chris served as deacon, minister in training, and formally preached his first public sermon on March 16, 2003. In July 2005, Elder Chris was ordained an Elder in the Way of the Cross Church of Christ.
Elder Hairston currently serves as Pastor and Founder of Triumph Way of the Cross Church located in Roanoke, VA. God has blessed the mission to minister to people from all races, creeds, and colors. The church has been able to assist the homeless and provide consolation to the battered. With God’s help, the ministry will continue to grow and provide salvation and security to even more of God’s children. It is the will and mission of the ministry to help those that need help, comfort the broken heart, and build God’s kingdom here on earth.

Pastor Hairston is married to the former Keevie Williams of Cascade, Virginia. They have been blessed with two gifted sons, Ethan and Israel, and currently reside in Vinton, Virginia. Chris is known as a football, baseball and basketball coach to many kids in the Vinton area. Chris is also employed as a CADD/BIM Manager by AECOM, a Fortune 500 company that provides Architecture, Engineering and Construction services around the globe.
Elder Christopher Hairston is a man whose desire has always been to see the hand of God on his life and to help others see God through his actions. He’s a man who embodies the spirit of Isaiah when he cried to the Lord and said, “Lord here am I, send me.”

District Elder Christopher S. Hairston
2nd Vice President
Triumph WOTCC – Roanoke, VA

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6). From birth, Elder Ezra Easley was privileged to be the recipient of rich Apostolic teachings from his Spiritual Father and grandfather, Apostle Leroy H. Cannady, Sr. Today, he has a passion to reach the lost (at any cost) and believes in serving God with his whole heart. Being born and raised in the church, he was shown by example what it meant to truly work for the Lord. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and was baptized in the precious Name of Jesus Christ on May 4, 1982 and received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost at the age of 17.

Through the leading of the Holy Spirit, Elder Ezra Easley was called into the ministry in June 2010 while serving at The Greater Christ Temple Church in Tacoma, Washington (affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World). His memorable topic was “Go Through with Patience” (Hebrews 12:1-11). He has been privileged to travel across the country preaching and teaching the unadulterated Word of God resulting in many lives being changed through the Holy Spirit. God uses him to deliver timely, thought-provoking messages designed to build a stronger relationship with Christ. Elder Easley has a passion to serve. He has demonstrated this in the numerous roles he has fulfilled in his local church as well as the national level.

Having a desire to see youth thrive and live a life of purpose according to God’s plan, Elder Easley has devoted much of his life to the International Youth For Christ of The Way of the Cross Church of Christ, International. Most recently he served as the 1st Vice President, IYFC but has also held other key executive roles
such as 3rd Vice President and Treasurer. Additionally, Elder Easley has and continues to serve the national body of The Way of the Cross Church of Christ, International in various capacities.

Elder Easley serves as an Associate Elder and Youth Advisor at The Carpenter’s House Baltimore under the leadership of his pastor, Bishop Melvin Easley, Jr. He is also the founder of Ezra Easley Ministries whose purpose is to spread the Gospel, empower youth, and strengthen families. He is currently employed as a Senior Director for Health Net Federal Services overseeing Operations.

Elder Easley is married to his love, Lady Kristin Easley. Together they have five children, Ayanna, Taylor, Alexis, Aryn, and Ezra Easley, II.

 

Candidate for IYFC 1st Vice President

Deacon Antoine Lancaster

Antoine Lancaster is a native of Washington, DC he is the 3rd born of 4 to Pastor District Elder Henry Sr and Dorothy. A dedicated and hard-working “no job too hard or task too small” with the purpose of the people in mind. Antoine attended Florida Memorial College in Miami, FL but obtain his bachelor's of science in Marketing at Alabama A&M University in 2006. While attending A&M Antoine was on the Dean's List and received Marketing Student of the Year. While in Huntsville Antoine participating in numerous clubs and volunteer his time around the city disadvantaged youth. Antoine returned home and was asked to help out the youth by Youth for Christ advisor Isaiah Long. That started a spark within Antoine to become more of a servant to the saints of God. Every 3rd Thursday of the month, Antoine would help with the food bank giving groceries to the less fortunate. That didn't stop there seen how fulfilling it was assisting others. He joined the feed the hungry program as well with the outreach ministry. Being the descendant of founder Henry C. Brooks and founder of YFC Mother Isabell B. Ford being a servant first was instilled in him. His diligent work behind the scenes he was asked to accept the appointment to the office of deacon August 2010. On Men's Day 2010 he was appointed deacon by Bishop Alphonzo D. Brooks. That same year Antoine was elected 1st Vice President of the YFC. Never shying away from growth Antoine was in school studying for his master’s and in 2011 he obtained his degree in procurement and contracts from the University Maryland University College. Continuously working in ministry in 2012 Antoine was elected to local youth president for the Mother Church. While youth president participation had increased in national events. Attended conferences with Housing Chairman Elder Lancaster gaining connections to various conference centers and convention bureaus. His work ethic stems from his father, Elder Chauncey Lancaster instilled in him if you want something in life you have to work for it. Antoine's work ethic in the church has helped in his professional life. Antoine has held a Leadership position in the security industry for over 15years of service. Leading a group of over 100 officers on various contracts empowering them to think outside of their current situation. Maintaining a busy work and church life Antoine just obtain his Master's in Business Administration. Antoine is also a part of the Eastern Board of Officials, officiating middle and high school football games. No one man is an island it takes a village to raise a child. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

Candidate for IYFC 1st Vice President

Pastor Jeffrie E. Long, Jr.

Pastor Jeffrie Eugene Long, Jr., resides in Huntingtown, Maryland. A graduate of Huntingtown High School, he was afforded the opportunity to complete his studies at the age of 16 years old. He is currently enrolled in Liberty University pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Clinical Psychology anticipating completion in the spring of 2019.

Pastor Long has been blessed to serve in ministry along side his father, Founding Pastor Jeffrie E. Long Sr., as the Pastoral Assistant at Communion Church located in Prince Frederick, MD. He has also served as the Teen (Intermediate) President for the Way of the Cross Church International Youth Department, developing programs for over 3,000 teens nationwide.

Being reared in the church, Pastor Long possesses a unique zeal, love and passion for God and His people. His spiritual formative years began at the Bethel Way of the Cross Church, under the pastorate of his father in the Gospel, Bishop Darnell Easton. He preached his initial sermon at the age of 17, and was licensed a minister by his father. During the 74th Holy Convocation of the Way of the Cross Church of Christ, Intl., Pastor Long made history, and was ordained the youngest Elder in the history of the organization.

In the fall of 2017, Pastor Long assumed the role as Interim Pastor of Communion Church established by his Parents. In the winter of 2018 following the leading of the Holy Spirit, he was appointed as the Pastor-Designate by his father and was unanimously accepted by the Communion Church family. On November 3, 2018, History was made once again as Pastor Long was installed as the Senior Pastor of Communion Church, making him the youngest Pastor within the organization as well as the community in which he serves.

In addition to his numerous responsibilities, he is devoted to expanding ministry beyond the parameters of the church sector. Pastor Long has served a multiplicity of community service organizations. He was the first male awarded with the “Ailene Stamper Youth Award” by the Concerned Black Women, saluting him for his pursuit of excellence. In the summer of 2017, he was elected to serve on the Executive Board of the Calvert County Democratic Central Committee. Pastor Log then went on to win a successful bid, as he was re-elected to a full 4 year term during the 2018 Primary-Election Cycle.  He is currently the youngest in state history to be elected and the only African-American presently serving on the county level.

Committed to life-long ministry, it is Pastor Long’s desire to make “long-lasting” impressions through developing lives and reigniting purpose, ultimately impacting the globe with the liberating and transformative power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Candidate for IYFC 2nd Vice President

Missionary Sherina D. Travis

Sherina D. Travis was born in Philadelphia, PA to Deacon Floyd “Dennis” Mason and Missionary Cynthia Mason.  She attended Philadelphia public schools were she graduate from Samuel Felds High School.  She later matriculated to West Chester University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education with emphasis in math.

Spiritually, Sherina grew up at Philadelphia Way of the Cross Church under the leadership of her grandparents: the late Bishop John E. Williams, Sr. and Mother Cecilia Williams.  There she was baptized and served in many capacities.  While in college, she became a member of the West Chester University Gospel Choir.  During this time she was baptized with the Holy Ghost at Christ Haven Pentecostal Church under the leadership of the late Bishop William F. Todd.  Before graduating from college, Sherina would serve as vice president of the gospel choir, lead a campus bible study, call Virtue, and be instrumental in the campus wide revival that saw over 100 students baptized in Jesus name and 50 filled with gift of the Holy Ghost.

While in college she met and married her soul mate, Bishop Travell Travis on December 30, 2006.  Soon after marriage, they were thrust into higher positions of leadership as Bishop Travis would be elected IYFC President in 2007 and in 2009 they established City of Refuge Way of the Cross Church in Richmond, VA.

Sherina serves City of Refuge as the founding member and first lady.  In addition, she serves as YFC President, Kid’s Academy Coordinator, missionary, trustee, praise team and choir member; all while serving in various other ministries and committees in our church.  For the IYFC, Sherina has served on the registration team and as recreation coordinator, IYFC 2nd VP executive assistant and currently serves in her own right as coordinator for the IYFC Daughter’s of Destiny, member of the scholarship committee, essay and oratory contest committee, and member of the altar workers ministry.

Professionally, Sherina began her teaching career with University Instructors as a math specialist for 5 years serving various schools in the Hampton Roads community.  For two of those years, she was assigned to Lakeview Elementary School in Portsmouth where she was able to help 6th grade students, primarily from low-income and minority families, to achieve 87% pass rate in 2012 and 96% rate that year on the Virginia SOL Test.

Currently, Sherina is employed a John Rolfe Middle School in Richmond.  During her 3 years at Rolfe, she has served as math department chair, 7th grade math team lead, 7th grade STEAM coordinator and representative, district curriculum writer for Henrico County, new teacher mentor, and workshop presenter.  Her most notable accomplishments from this past year was her pass rate of over 70% for math and for Algebra 1 (first time teaching) a pass rate over 90%.

Her second notable accomplishment from this past year was being the visionary and coordinator for the “Amazing Race” at White Oak Mall.  This event linked the school and the community in hands on exercises and activities that made the classroom come to life in the real world.  To date over 21k people have viewed her video and many have invited her to train their teams on how to implement a similar program for their school.

Academically, in 2014 Sherina graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg where she received a Master’s degree in Secondary Education with specialization in K-12 math.  That year, Sherina was accepted into the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.8.  In 2018, Sherina graduated again from Liberty University with an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Middle School Math.  Presently, Sherina is pursing her doctorate degree in educational leadership (Ed.D) with an anticipated graduation date of 2021.

Sherina is able to juggle her responsibilities as a teacher, student, and first lady while raising three wonderful girls: Deonna (10), Janiyah (9), and Amiyah (1).  In addition, she has been a devoted wife and has faithfully travelled with her husband to every national meeting and speaking engagement around the country during his 12 years as IYFC president.  To date, together, they have visited over 95% of the churches in the WOTCC and will continue to serve the church and body of Christ in new and different roles as the Lord sees fit to use them.

Deacon JoVen Millner

Shiloh Way of the Cross Church of Christ, Martinsville, VA

Deacon JoVen Millner was born in Martinsville, VA to John A. and Beverly Millner, and has a brother, Daniel Millner.  He received his education in the public schools of Henry County, Virginia and furthered his education at ECPI, Roanoke, Virginia earning an associate’s degree in computer science. He was president of the National Honors Society while at ECPI and graduated cum laude with a 3.8 GPA.  JoVen is employed as a Quality/IT Manager at Applied Felts in Martinsville, Virginia.

Deacon Millner grew up in the Way of the Cross and has dedicated himself to the service of our Lord Jesus Christ in his local assembly and nationally.  He is a lifelong member of Shiloh Way of the Cross Church of Christ, baptized on December 15, 1985 at the age of six under the leadership of the Founder, the late Bishop H. C. Eggleston.  He received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost at the age of ten under the leadership of Bishop Earley Dillard.  Along with his love in serving Jesus Christ and the church is his love and dedication to ministering in music—understanding the importance of music as well as the relationship between music and worship that conditions the heart to receive the Word of the Lord.

Deacon Millner has served as an officer with the Shiloh WOTC Youth for Christ Department since 2015. He works faithfully with the youth during outings, services, on the streets passing out church flyers campaigning for souls and encouraging the youth through testimonials.

He is married to Tosheena Moore Millner. They reside in Martinsville, Virginia and are blessed with three children, Alivia, Jonaven and Jon David who are all active in the Shiloh WOTC Church as well as the Way of the Cross Church of Christ, International.

With the help of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, JoVen, aka “Bass Man”, aspires to be an asset to the Way of the Cross Church of Christ, International, praying God will continue to bless the organization and the Youth for Christ to greatness in Jesus name!

Sister Jacqueline L. Barlow

Bethel WOTCC – Hungtingtown, MD

Jacqueline L. Barlow was born in Silver Spring, MD to Deacon Jack T. Barlow, Sr. and the late Sister Linda A. Barlow. She is the oldest of four children and the aunt to her one and only nephew, Zacari Hawkins.

She graduated from Coppin State University in Baltimore, MD on May 9, 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Applied Psychology and a minor in Dance. She is currently employed as a Flight Attendant for a regional airline and is currently based in Denver, Colorado.

Jacqueline is a member of Bethel Way of the Cross Church in Huntingtown, MD; where her pastor is Bishop Darnell Easton. She is a very active church member there. Currently she serves as the local YFC Newsletter editor; the assistant choir director of the Sanctuary Choir as well as the Youth For Christ choir. One of the choreographers for Bethel’s Liturgical Dance Ministry “Anointed For This”. On a regional level, she is the choir director for the Mid-Atlantic Diocese. And she is also active on the National level.

Sister Ebony V. Johnson

Ebony V. Johnson is a resident of Upper Marlboro, MD. She is the youngest of four to Elder Anthony and Missionary Valarie Johnson. Ebony attends Mount Calvary Way of the Cross Church in Landover, MD, where her pastor is Bishop Willie J. Davis. She was baptized at a young and mature age, and received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost at the age of 19.

Ebony graduated in December 2018 from Howard Community College in Columbia, MD. She received an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. Ebony plans to return back to school in the Spring of 2019, to obtain her Bachelors degree in Integrated Elementary/Special Education. Currently, she is a Lead Teacher for a Childcare Learning Center in Glen Burnie, MD.

Ebony has been serving faithfully as Youth For Christ President, since 2015 at Mount Calvary. She also serves on the Mass and Youth choir and serves on the Usher Board. Ebony is the Social Media editor for the Anniversary Committee, and once served as Assistant Secretary. Ebony has worked, for many years, under the Church Treasurer, learning and receiving the proper skills to advance in the position. She served a two year term as the 3rd Vice President of the International Youth for Christ Young Adults, from 2017 to 2019
